What is Reveal API Confidence Score?
Last Updated: April 11, 2023
Clearbit returns a confidence score with every Reveal API response that describes our level of confidence that the company we returned from our IP lookup is accurate.
Features & Benefits
- Improve confidence in Reveal results. Provide developers, partners, and end-users insight into Clearbit’s confidence level in a given result.
- Filter out low-confidence results to improve the end-user experience. Reduce the risk of delivering “mis-matched” experiences, especially when delivering targeted personalization experiences (e.g. referencing the visitor’s company name and logo on your website).
Confidence Scores & Levels
The confidence score returns a numerical representation of Clearbit’s confidence in the accuracy of our Reveal result. Higher confidence levels have lower expected margin of error.
These tend to be from permanently assigned static IP blocks that are purchased and used by companies with large office buildings and campuses.
These tend to have the freshest and most stable traffic, often identified in a 1st party context. Generally speaking, a high quality result has a margin of error that is less than 5%.
These tend to be residential IPs with few people sharing the same IP address.
Tend to be offices that have changed or residential locations such as hotels, Airbnbs or apartment complexes.
