π Please note: This article is for customers on Standard Bundle, Enrichment, or Clearbit Platform plans.
CSV uploads within Clearbit enable platform users to build audiences based on lists of companies or email contacts. Once these files are uploaded you can leverage them to activate destinations, including Ad Audiences. If you select a company or contact list as part of your audience, you can also apply Clearbit demographic targeting, such as job function or seniority, to further refine your audience.

How To Upload a CSV File
-
Navigate to the Company or People tab within Clearbit. In the upper right-hand corner, select the dropdown and choose Import people from the CSV button.
- Select a properly formatted CSV file from your computer. The file must contain headers and either a column of email addresses or website domains.
-
Match the columns from your CSV upload to your Clearbit dataset.
π Please note:
If you are uploading Email Addresses, then map the column name containing them to Email. You can also upload custom files and map these to custom traits within Clearbit.
If you are uploaded company domains, they cannot contain "https://www." in front of the domain. For example, you could use "Clearbit.com", but not "https://www.Clearbit.com". - Once you have mapped the file successfully, click Import in the bottom right and you are done!
Clearbit will not ingest emails or domains that do not match the formatting requirements. Clearbit also will not ingest emails or domains that it determines are invalid. If you notice a large discrepancy between your CSV and the number of companies or people uploaded, check your CSV for formatting and invalid records.
