Amazon announced its retiring Alexa Rank in 2022. Amazon is retiring Alexa Rank in two phases: Website Retirement and API Retirement.
On May 1st, 2022 Amazon retired the Alexa.com website. The website was the "interface" that consumers used to research companies and self-serve insights directly from Amazon.Â
How Does Clearbit Use the Alexa Rank API?Â
Clearbit uses Alexa Rank API to provide website traffic estimates through our APIs and platform. Clearbit’s Enrichment API (Company API), Discovery API, and Reveal API are all impacted.
When is The Last Day Clearbit has Access to Alexa Rank Data?
Although the website has been retired, Clearbit will still have access to fresh Alexa Rank data until the API Retirement date on December 15th, 2022.
Until then, Clearbit will provide up to date Alexa rank values for the following API-specific supported attributes:
- Enrichment API (Company API): alexaUsRank, alexaGlobalRank
- Discovery API: alexa_ranking, alexa_us_rank
- Reveal API: alexaUsRank, alexaGlobalRank

Clearbit Traffic Rank is an aggregated metric that combines users, website visits and takes into account seasonality to provide a good guide for understanding how a company's website metrics compare against other companies on the internet. It is a good predictor for targeting and propensity and value modeling, helping to understand how a company stacks up against other businesses, as well as to analyze changes in website traffic over time (MoM or YoY).
